Mizzou won't let me fucking print anything! But I visited the tech guys (nerds, all of them, but my heroes) and they printed what I needed to for my application for vet school. Granted only one copy but still... and this brings me to my next point. My essays for my application are too fucking long! I can't figure out how to make them any shorter without losing all of the important stuff! How do you fit your experiences into 37 lines of 80 characters each! Its impossible. And then once you type it in (or copy and paste), its reformated and then too long! All along they tell us to fill the space, fill the space and now that I did, I did too much. Fuck!
And playing with your bra in the computer lab makes it come undone. Needless to say, I've got to go.

Today, I was told the disappointing news that some people don't get into vet school when they apply. And that some people shouldn't even be applying. I don't know why that bums me out esp. since I was so close to getting in last year. But it does. Maybe its because my application isn't done. Thursday and Friday I swear! Frei, we are not leaving Columbia until I submit it and hand in my money! I mean it. Make me do it!
Off to sleepy town...umm...I mean studying in the library for my test. Whatever.

I went home this weekend for a pony club meeting. Anyway, Friday night I had to work liquor till midnight and then on Saturday have to be at work at 6am since I had (I assumed) told them that I'd work the morning so I could go home. So like 6:30, my boss was like 'Leslie, were you here at 6?' And I told him that I might of been a few minutes late. He said that 6-10 was for that night, which makes so much more sense but obviously I am dumb. But he said it was cool because someone called in and I had wanted off. Then I drove home to get into my mom's car and ride to Springfield, Illinois. We had a meeting, I made a motion that got passed and am on a committee. Take that vet school application, which I swore I would work on today but alas will not! On Sunday, we had dinner with my grandparents and my mom bought me some groceries. She bought me some clothes too.
Today, as I was walking through Lowry Mall, there was all of this craziness. The Cotton people were there giving away things. I never partake in free give-a-ways like this because I have no patience to stand in line for a t-shirt as cool as it may be. And Cotton? Come on! I don't see it as the fabric of winter in Missouri. Maybe wool. Or gortex?
Also today, there were people sidewalk chalking at like 10am! I guess that's one way to do it-in the middle of a crowded campus instead of sneaking around like a ninja at night only to get caught.
I am supremely excited for Friday and Saturday.

Today, in my geology lab we had a quiz on which we had to identify 10 minerals and rocks. I didn't do too great. After class, my TA (Hot Ethan, as I like to call him) stopped me and asked me how I did. Was this because I was the last one out? Was this because I have normally answered some questions? Or was this for some other yet to be determined reason?
I busted up my knuckle yesterday at the dairy farm. It looks like I decked someone, which is what I am going to tell people happened. And I bled some cows! That was fun. Some poor cows suffered at my inexperienced hands.
Isn't it sad that the Cardinals lost? And it rained really, really hard last night much to my surprise.

This morning as I went to the dairy farm to feed the cows there were three deer laying down asleep in my yard. They woke up and looked at me like I'd look at you if I was woken up by a large, loud human.
They (or some other three) were still there when I came home.

I have been pretty busy and havn't made any real updates-just some misc. notes from food science and pictures of Marty (my future husband!) Anyway, I am working at the dairy farm again (in addtion to Hy-Vee) on a reaseach project. I feed cows on Monday and Friday mornings at 6 and on Wednesdays I take milk samples at 4 and then feed when I am done. I work the occasional weekend too. Nothing else is really going on. Had some tests, am putting off studying for others, really, really need to work on my vet school application.
I am very excited about Erica's party. I am going as Paris Hilton and I'm not going to lie-its going to be hot. That's Hot! And today, I wore the blond wig for way too long.
I have also began feeding the deer of Columbia. I put cracked corn in my yard and I put out a salt block. Its a deer sancuary as long as they don't mind me screaming at them when they scare me, which happens more often than you might think. There are multiple deer everyday or so.
Can I just say that I find the following very, very funny. Because honestly, did she really think that she'd be the only one with that idea? Obviously, she wouldn't be because I had it too...I am willing to bet that there will be multiple 'broken brides', dinosaurs, devils and probably many people who think its clever to be 'The Travler'.:
'I can't use my Halloween costume anymore. Someone mentioed it on the Ludo Message boards, so people will assume I either got the idea from there, or more than one person will do it. I'm pissed because I REALLY loved that idea, and Tim seemed pretty excited about it. It just makes me sad. Now I have no idea what to do. I'll probably go in normal clothes. Which sucks.'

This picture is for Martha. I just looked at it really close for the first time today. I thought earlier-'Hmmm...Marty is putting on eyeliner.' Then today I look at it and I'm like 'Oh my god! There are three arms in this picture!' But then I realized someone is putting eyeliner on Marty and he's not doing it himself. I heart you Mr.Casey!

Ode to Soda
oh, soda! your sweet nectar brings me such joy!
where would I be without high fructose corn syrup,
phosphoric acid and tiny bubbles
forget diet, give me all the sugar you got
a dollar? mere pennies for the joy...
I'm pretty tired. I've got to admit though, while I thought I hated my new job working on Dr. Spain's research project, I really like it. Its not particularly hard and now that I've figured out the Rissler's (no broken ribs today!), its getting much better. Getting up at 5:20 AM sucks, but 3:20 sucks worse. I didn't know that I was in charge of milk samples too.

The United States Postal Service is a scam. Do you realize that if they don't have mail for you they don't have to stop at your box even if the little red flag that states 'there is a rent check in here to be mailed' is up? Its true. I called to complain and was told such. This wasn't the first time that the USPS has screwed me over. Fuck the mail.
