I have a terrible headache this morning.
Joe went to St.Joe this weekend leaving me and Riley home for some girl/dog bonding time. I know Riley was disappointed that she didn't get to go someplace because she pouted when I got home. Normally, when the crates are being packed up to go on a trip, Riley bounces about, wagging her nubbin tail and barking. Joe said that she did this and then when told to go to her house, was like 'What?'. Of course, being the good dog that she is, she went but probably not without alot of deep sighs.
Friday, I got home later than intended. I ate some buffalo wings because we talked about them in class and drank some beer. I watched Good Will Hunting and fell asleep on the couch. I was tired and somewhat drunk-I had been up since 11pm on Thursday. Eventually, the dog and I made our way upstairs to cuddle with the cat and sleep.
Saturday, I woke up to the smell of smoke. I searched out the source and finding none attributed it to the potholder I burned the night before. Eventually, I had to look something up on Joe's computer and it wouldn't turn on. It had shorted itself out overnight. I am seriously thinking about a laptop now. Dad is supposed to look into the Dell discount that he gets today. I was on call all day Saturday and spent it laying about on the couch watching movies (Dances with Wolves) and falling asleep. That night, I went to Laura's and ate pizza and watched a movie. As we were hanging out, I got a call about 10:30pm about a horse with a colic that was coming in and four hours out. I cursed my luck and went home for some sleep. About 2am, I got another call and went into the hospital. We examined the horse and unfortunately, euthanized her. I was at the hospital doing paperwork and such until 6am. When I got home, the pets and I cuddled up again until noon on Sunda.
Once I dragged myself out of bed on Sunday, I went shopping. I bought Joe a Valentine's present (not a Crown Victoria) and told the clerk that 'Math is hard.' after trying to add the total of my purchases together. I bought some clothes and had the prerequired self esteem issues. After shopping, I went the dog park for a little while. Joe came home and we hung out. We missed each other lots. After he went to work, I watched a movie.
Today, I am working equine ICU until 5:30ish but hope to get out sooner.
My mom informed me that Jerry and Danielle are planning their wedding for May of 2010. This is when I graduate. I absolutely refuse to allow it to be the same weekend as my graduation. I worked for four years to become a vet and shouldn't have to share the spotlight with them. I've been in vet school longer than they have dated! Before, after it doesn't matter but not that same weekend. And they are planning on having a '50s themed wedding which actually sounds great! It allows me to make a fabulous dress and Joe to wear a hat.
The real question now becomes: When am I getting married? As Laura pointed out, I sort of need to get engaged first. When is that happening? I feel like I have been pressuring Joe about getting married and engaged but everyone is doing it around me and I really, really love Joe! I know it will happen eventually and I'm not that really that worried about it. I just want it to happen!
