I want it to be noted that in the long entry before this I spelled penguins with a Q. This was not at all intentional, but simply how the word should be spelled.
So Richard is back at the dairy farm which lessens but does not clear up all of my 4 am milking shifts, at least not until after spring break. (Hy-Vee just called and despite my best attempts to be willing to pick up the phone when its them, I did not. So there!) Anyway, today, I was checking heat, which entails watching cows become lesbians, and one cow broke her leg! She was in heat so was jumping around on other cows but I wasn't really watching her when suddenly there was a loud cry (moo) and then she is falling, sitting, laying on the ground flayling her legs around. I definantly heard a loud crack at the time of the moo too. So I went and got Eric and he tried to get her up only to have her leg lay strangly underneath her. I'm pretty sure the vet came out and put her down. It was a bad deal.
Not much else is going on...Joe is coming down this weekend and I think we are going to DeSoto to meet the parents.
