Well, so Friday I went to my mail box after having taken a long nap and in the mist of that telling my boss at Hy-Vee flat out that I wasn't coming in for him and there was a big brown envelope in it. I thought (hoped) that it was from my lawyer seeing as that I still havn't got the insurance money for the car I totaled in December (luckily since then I have found out that my loan on it was paid off.). But then I noticed that it was from the vet school. Running into traffic, screaming, I knew that this big brown envelope was a good thing because last year my rejection letter was in a small white one. And sure enough, the envelope was there to tell me that in a little more than four years I will be without a doubt (unless I fail out that is): DR. LESLIE POPE D.V.M.! Of course, I think I will go by Dr. L.S. Pope D.V.M. because of my dislike for my first name. And then I might get married one day...But all that aside, I am going to be a veterinarian!
Joe came down this weekend and was greeted by my incredibly happy cries. We went to Shakesphere's for pizza and I told the cashier about getting into vet school and they announced it when my pizza was ready. Everyone else clapped too! Then I went to bed so I could milk at 4am. Saturday after milking, I came home to an empty house because Joe was being frantic about meeting my parents. We drove to DeSoto and all went well. The horses loved Joe as did I am sure my parents. I have no final word on this yet though. Then we ate at Jimmy's Steakhouse (yes, Martha and Sarah the same Jimmy's that we went to with the guys because of the 'hot' waitresses.) Then I went to bed and did the milking thing again. Sunday we checked out Goodwill and in the land of multiple ice cream places could not find one that was open that morning until we stormed Shake's (always Shakey's to me) downtown as they opened. Joe and I ate ice cream while sitting on the columns looking very cute in our matching navy hoodies both equally stolen from Joe's mom's shop.
I can't think of much else...I have been working at the farm and Hy-Vee earning the $100 I already owe the vet school.
