MySpace-September 8, 2008-14 Reasons I Can Think Of Right Now Why I Hate MU Football

In no particular order:
-the noise caused by the flyover of jets. As cool as it is to see a stealth bomber fly directly over your apartment (and it is cool), its loud and causes my pictures to rattle on my walls. It hasn't happened this year...yet.
-Stolen rabbits. My concrete rabbit that sat nestled amoung the plants on my front porch was stolen last night. I can only blame MU football and the madness of its fans for the disappearence of a beloved friend. That my grandma gave me. Seriously people.
-The noise from the stadium. I can see the stadium from my apartment complex. Not so much from my current apartment but from my old one. I'm that close. And before I could hear pretty much the play by play. I think they must of turned the volume up because even though I moved across the parking lot, I can still hear it. It would be cool if you were a fan.
-The trash left behind from tailgaters and assorted fans. Its on the road, in the parking long and the Reactor Field parking lot where they charge to tailgate might as well be a landfill. That's how messy it was this morning. MU fans should be ashamed of themselves for looking so bad.
-The amount of drunkeness. Do you really need to be drunk to be a fan? MU fans seem to think so.
-Douchebags in their black and gold. Enough said.
-People that park in my parking spot. I hate when this happens. Football games only enhance the likelihood of it happening too. No one did it this weekend but I am careful not to leave before a game. I saw the tow truck at least four times. People got very creative in saving their spots-various boxes and flower pots with no parking signs taped to them.
-People that park in the fire lane. No one did it this game but the season is young. This time they parked in the grass next to it. Anyone that's been to my apartment complex knows that you have to climb up a steep hill via a narrow drive. Park cars on one side of it and a firetruck could never get in. How many apartments would burn?
-Turning a narrow two lane road into a one lane road with two lanes of traffic. That's what happens every game day. The Providence outer road is narrow and drops off into a steep embankment. I was excited to see Friday that both sides had been marked by the police as no parking. However, by Saturday afternoon, it had changed to one side. It makes it very difficult to get through when you can't get over any more and there is a car coming at you. Again, how would a firetruck get through?
-People that walk in the middle of the road. Remember that narrow road you parked on only to make it more narrow? Just because you created it doesn't mean you are allowed to walk in the middle of it. Some of us have important places to be. Important things to do. Such as make sure the goat that you plan to kill Thursday hasn't died yet. I will hit you. I'm not afraid.
-The noise from the victory celebrations. Fine if its in the day. Not so cool in the middle of the night. I would imagine that these are the same victory celebrations that get concrete rabbits from your grandma stolen.
-Blocked off streets. Both MU and the cops are to blame for this. I can't go home the way I want to because they have traffic blocked off. So I have to go all the way around. Its a pain in the ass. Sometimes I want to be like, 'look, I'm covered in cow crap, does it really look like I'm going to tailgate?'
-The money poured into football (and other sports) and away from other things...such as the vet school.
-The easy classes that football players get to take. Granted, it seems like basketlball (despite their poorer record) gets away with this more. I bet there are quite a few good ol' country boys on the football team that really want that degree in agriculture...but still I didn't get some huge scholarship to sit in a class that some people are struggling with to get an A because I'm playing sports.

Yes, this all sounds like sour grapes but you live where I do for a football season much less four and see how you feel...
