Rockstar: INXS update time! On Tuesday, everyone got to do two songs (since there is only five people left!)-an original and something picked online by fans. These songs were songs that the audience thought the 'rockers' could do better or didn't get a chance to do the first time. JD (that ass) did 'Come As You Are' and did it really slow for the first 2/3rds and then rocked it the last part. He didn't want to be compared to Cobain, but I think he should of rocked the last 2/3rds. Marty did the Foo Fighters song that I can't remember right now but I though (its 'Everlong') he should of done originally. I guess others did too. So last night they had a group song for the Katrina victims (cheesy) and then JD did his encore. On Tuesday, they listed from top to bottom the early results: Marty, Suzie, JD, Mig and Joris. The bottom three last night were JD, Jordis and Suzie. Jordis, sadly, was voted off. I don't know. I really like Marty but I don't think he is right for this band but if he gets kicked off I will probably become a fan of his band The Lovehammers from Chicago. And I want to marry him.
Last night, I went to the first pre-vet club meeting. It sucked as usual.
I am still fighting with the financial aid people. It makes me so made I was crying last night. I have a test on Monday and still no book! But today I was told that yes, they have all of the information but it would take several days to package it. But I got an appointment with my advisor and hopefully he can speed it up as I am sure he doesn't want to see me cry. Also if things aren't paid by next Thursday, they will kick me out of my classes. And all my time has been wasted...
And the crowning of last night was going to Slackers to see an acoustic set by Kris Roe of The Ataris. I honestly don't like his acoustic stuff. Personally, I don't think he is a good enough singer to carry it off but the new stuff from their new album was sad and moody but good. I think I'll like it. He played my two favorite songs -'My Hotel Year' (I just read the book he was inspired by to write it.) and 'Unopened Letter To The World'. I bought his homemade 'I need gas money' CD and told him he was great. I'm such a dork and wish I was cooler. Cody from the band New Clarity (you'd know him if you saw him, he's the one that starts the mosh pits at Ludo shows) was there and we talked. Tony, my little high school kid (even though he's graduated), was there too.
