MySpace-July 20, 2007-WARNING: Potenital Pet Hoarder Ahead

I wanted a cat. And when I came home from vacation, I planned on e-mailing the vet here at school who had been trying to pawn off her research cats on people. She had one left before I left for vacation. A black and white male that I would of named Franklin but called Frankie.
Riley chases cats but I'm pretty sure that she's trying to herd them and they run off so she follows. But she's also scared of any cat that stands up to her and does even the smallest hiss. She knows what the words 'cat' and 'kitty' are and when asking her where the kitty is she'll run around looking. Its cute. She does the same thing when you ask here to find the bunny. (However, asking her to find or where is anything else, will get her ball brought to you.)
BUT this blog isn't about how cute my dog is. Its about my inablity to not love animals. Its about why I am not persuing the last remaining research cat (aww, Frankie.)
Its about a corgi. His name is Oliver and a fourth year vet student has taken him in after he came to the vet school injured. She's looking for a home for him. He's a year and half and almost the same color as Riley. He would be the perfect brother for her. I think I ALMOST had my parents talked into it esp. after my dad spent the week playing with Riley had having her dotingly follow him around. But they have a dog that isn't loved already and really should have a different home. (Her name is Dixie; she's a lab/beagle mix and would love kids. Anyone?)
So I know I have a one bedroom apartment with a corgi that spends too much time in the crate and a rabbit and a goldfish that doesn't actually count when counting pets. BUT if worse comes to worse, I think that my brother and his girlfriend would take in Teddy. And I think, I could learn to love two dogs. Even a male dog. So if this girl can't find Oliver a home, he'll get hoarded away with all of my other animals.

Sometimes I hate being a vet student for this reason.
Amie, regarding the e-mail I sent you telling you to tell Lindsey, I would take the dog if she didn't find anyone, hold off on telling her that for a couple or so weeks...I need to figure out where two crates will fit.
