Xanga-January 19, 2005

Read the following like the Gilligan's Island theme song: 'Sit right back and you'll hear a tale of a fateful trip...'
And now to begin a very long entry involving my entire trip and several things I have seen and done. Enjoy!
The trip was long to say the least. I'll break it down by states.
Missouri: cold and dark. That's all.
Illinois: this state consisted of 80 miles that I didn't need to see at all. I seemingly got lost and had to take a detour through the state. I knew where I was the entire time though. There were also lots of cops.
Kentucky: There was flooding and lots of people have goats and sheep. I also saw a car fire-actually, the car wasn't on fire anymore but the firetrucks were still there.
Tennessee: Went through Nashville and most of the state was pretty boring. At one point, I asked a lady at a gas station what time it was and she looked at me like I was crazy. The mountains were really cool-they have these runaway truck ramps that go up when the interstate goes down. We wanted to try one with the Jeep but decided not to.
Georgia: The longest state ever! but we got apple cider at the welcome center. We stopped for the night in Smrnya/Marietta and ate at a Chik-Fil-A (can you believe that they have entire stores?!) Went through Atlanta early in the morning but it was still neat. Georgia also has a facination with erotic cafes. I was very disappointed by the world's largest peanut and in general disappointed by the state.
Florida: We got OJ at the welcome center. When we first got here it was warm but windy. Then it got rainy and then now its cold and sunny at least in the mornings. The ERC is in the middle of no where but very nice.
And now for my job. Basically, I ride with a vet and am his bitch. He is a very important vet and we go to very, very big Throughbred farms. I have met some very interesting people and have seen very interesting things. Basically, though I am in charge of helping the vet, making sure X-rays get developed and labs run and driving. Yes, that's right. I am in charge of driving. He has a very large Suburban as his vet truck and I have to drive to places that I don't know where they are. I think its a big deal.
My roommates aren't bad. But its early. There is still plenty of time to hate each other.
Final thoughts: The grocery store here-Publix. Can I say more? Wednesday is Ladies' night at the X-Press Lube. How many David O'Connors do you think live in Ocala? There are seagulls and palm trees in the horse pastures. And I see horses directly outside of my window.
