MySpace-May 20, 2007-Joe's Apartment Destiny

Okay, so as you all probably know, I've been frustrating myself looking for apartments here in Columbia for Joe. Its really aggervating because I don't know really what he wants and no one wants to show me anything without having an application filled out first.
Anyway, from the get go, Joe has always said that he'd rather rent from an individual, such as Misti and Greg my old landlords, versus a faceless corporation such as DBC, my new landlords. Easier said than done. But he does have a point. You don't have to pass a credit check with Greg and Misti. So on one of my searches for apartments, I noticed that in the old house where I used to live on College Ave., the one bedroom apartment in the basement was up for rent. I called Misti about it and it was really cheap but guarenteed to be small. I set up a time and went to look. Joe told me he had a good feeling about this place.
Now this is where destiny and fate start kicking in.
First of all, the guy that lives there now, moved into my studio in that house when I moved out. And then when I moved out of the place on Providence, he moved in there too. And now potentially, I could be moving my boyfriend into his old place. Weird.
And destiny only starts getting stronger...this guy came in with me and Misti and when we walked into the living room, who do I spy as the background on his computer? Tom Waits! I asked to make sure and then this guy pointed out a Tom Waits drawing and mentioned that the name of his old band was Murder in the Red Barn, a Tom Waits song. I told him that Tom Waits was Joe's favorite artist. Crazy...
So now Joe knows what he must do. But just to make sure that he does, I'm going to outline it once again for him...He must hope that no one else had a strike of destiny. He must call Misti and Greg to tell them who he is and that he's interested.  He must mention to Misti and Greg the potential of him being down here this upcoming Memorial Day weekend and that he would like to look at the apartment again. He must call them again later in the week once he knows when he's coming and set up a time to look at the apartment. He must be prepared to pay a deposit and sign a lease making his girlfriend happy that she doesn't have to keep looking at apartments for him. And then he must think about how he's going to get the furniture into the tiny apartment.

I love apartment destiny!
