Thanksgiving Week 2005-
I stayed in Columbia most of the week and worked. Thursday morning, after the dairy farm, I went home for some turkey and other assorted food items. I was allowed to return to Columbia with the drumsticks. Both of them. One was consumed while standing over my kitchen sink, which is kind of boring since I have to look at the cabinets and dirty dishes. Before I came home on Friday, for the Friday afternoon feeding, my dad returned my coat and got me a smaller one.
Saturday was the Hy-Vee holiday party. Joe came down from St.Joe. (I am secretly CONVINCED that everyone in St.Joe has an accent and sounds the same.) He looked very nice and I had a good time-only made better by five drinks. There was some skanking and other assorted dancing. I didn't win any prizes as opposed to last year when I won a set of car wax-promptly regifted to my brother at Christmas. Overall, it was a good time. Sunday, Joe and I went to the movies and then had Cici's All You Can Eat for Only $3.99 Pizza before I went to work. Boring.
Today, I fell asleep in my first class. Tonight, I have to work till 12. Tomorrow-maybe shadowing the vet? Who knows. I've sortof fallen down on that here lately.
MOVIE REVIEWS-
'RENT'-maybe its because I'm from Missouri and never have even been to New York, but while enjoyable the movie wasn't exactly what I expected. It was pretty overly dramatic. There was ALOT of singing. I know its a musical but I thought it was like The Wizard of Oz or a Disney movie with some singing. Anyway, overall, I'd give it a B, for heart. But can you really go a year without paying rent? I guess in New York you can!
'Walk The Line'-Johnny Cash had some demons and battled them. He sang some. He drank some. He took some pills-though they never said what kind. He womanized and divorced his wife leaving her and two or three daughters. He finally wore down June Carter and convinced her to marry him. He recorded an album at a prison! I give this movie an A! Joaquin Phonix is a hottie! " 'What's with all the black? Its like you're going to a funeral.' 'Maybe I am."
